What's there in this film?.

The Devil All the time (2020) is an adaption from the novel of the same name by Roy Pollock.

The one-line story is,the whole story takes place after the second world war.there are a lot of characters in the film but I only tell the story of the hero. hero's father commits suicide because he is crazy or mad about the beliefs of gods, so the depressed hero grows up in his grandmother's house with his stepsister. the problem of the hero's story is, his stepsister was abused by the fake priest of that town in the name of God, thus the hero kills that fake preacher and escapes from that town.after this hero gets stuck with a pscho couple who love to take nude photos.then the story is how hero escaped from that psycho couples and how he saved himself from the cop who is a brother of that Psycho lady.

The nicest of this film is strong acting by all the actors who acted in this film, my favourite was Robert Pattinson, though it is a limited role that he comes up for a few scenes he just strikes the importance of that character by his strong acting.

Tom Holland, he is a show-stealer of this film, After watching a Tom Holland in Spider-Man movie, when you see him in this film, at first you don't know any difference, but after that surely you will notice the difference of that character by the mature performance of Tom Holland in the film as Arvin Russell.

After these two, there many characters and sidekicks with their significance to the story, this is achieved only by the good screenplay writing because it gave much opportunity to each character to show their importance.

Another good one about this film is storytelling and the cinematography, though the movie takes off slow, the slow-paced unfolding of each new characters at every period of the film holds the audience to the screen.

The truth is I haven't read that original novel by Roy Pollock, but the way they connect the characters in this film added little interesting to watch like what's going to happen next.

The interlocking story though it is guessable at some parts, it has its significance or importance to hold the audience by the strong acting of all cast.

I don't know whose voice it is in every important parts of the film, take a bow man, it added more promise and also explained clearly about the connectivity of each character at different periods.

What's not there in this film?.

The only drawback of this film is, its slow pace, I think it is not a big deal if you connected to the story from the starting because it will add more curiosity at each scene, it is only if you understand the story clearly otherwise the whole film will be a boring dramatic film for you.

The whole story is guessable after some parts, the truth is we can predict each scene though it had many different plots, it is because of their poor non-linear narrative.

Star performance:

I don't know to whom it fits.

Because everyone did their part well.

Storyline:

Hero's mother had cancer but his father didn't treat it but instead went Mad and prayed daily to god.

Hero's mad father dared to offer the hero's pet dog to god to save his wife. hero's mother dies after that because none of this prayers or beliefs worked that much to save her, because of this hero's dad also committed suicide.

So the depressed hero grows up in his grandma's house with his stepsister the child born to Helen Hatton whom hero's father was to marry.

The problem of this hero's story is, his stepsister was abused by the fake preacher in the name of the God, thus the hero kills that fake preacher and escapes from that town.

After this hero stuck with the psycho couples who love to take nude photos of the passenger who comes to their taxi.

Then the story is how hero escaped from that psycho couples and how he saved himself from the cop who is a brother of that psycho lady.

Verdict:

Slow-paced film but a good enough one in acting and other stuff wise, don't miss this now streaming on Netflix.
