What's there in this film?.

Mee Raqsam (2020) is a directorial debut film for Baba Azmi, a well needed story that depicts the confusion between the Bharathanatyam and the Religions.

The one-line story is, the heroine is a Muslim girl who wants to learn Bharatanatyam but is opposed by her Muslim class and then the story is whether she learns Bharatanatyam or not.

Firstly I thought the story is some kinda father-daughter sentiment type like that, but the story is more than that, a good bold attempt the fact is this is better and quality one than recent dance films with the same kinda stories.

Danish Hussain as Salim a good appealing performance, Naseeruddin Shah as Hashim Seth played a guest role as the Muslim community leader did his job well as usual.

Aditi Subedi as Maryam, my thought about her performance is the expressionless acting seems to be a little bit balanced after the first half.

The plot is fully dramatic with full of emotions and sentiments, but the writer did a good job in these parts by making the characters little memorable.

The whole story is just sinked to the reality with good characterisations.

Cinematography is also a average one at its best, music by Ripul Sharma underlined the scenes, the fact is there was a little more hunger for songs in it than in other dance films.

Dialogues are usual like in these kinda films, most of them are predictable and old one.

What's not there in film?.

The main drawback of this film is, some characters just come and go in some parts of the story without fulfilling their tracks.

The ending could still have been better, it just needs a perfect finishing, you will also feel the same after watching the whole movie.

Acting of Aditi  Subedi needs some tinting works, some scenes in the starting are more like an expressionless one.

There is also many wasted cringe dramatic scenes, I won't tell watch that in the film,

Star performance:

It fits Danish Hussain.

Because of his brilliant performance.

Storyline:

The storyline of this films is, heroine's mom teaching her child dance by watching the TV shows in her free time.

Once her mom is dead, the heroine get more attraction towards the Bharathanatyam dance, her dad also struggled and enrolled her in dance class.

But the problem is the people in that village opposed the heroine's dad for his daughter's dance class because of the confusions between the community and dance.

And then the story is whether she learned Bharatanatyam or not.

Verdict:

A good story with few cringe dramatic scenes, watch this for one time if you are free.

Rating:

Acting: 2.75/5

Story: 3.25/5.

Cinematography: 3.25/5.

Music: 3.25/5

Mee Raqsam (2020) rating:
