What's there in this film?.

We know it's a biopic from the title card itself, yes,it's a biopic of great Indian mathematician Shakuntala Devi commonly known as Human-Computer.

Vidhya Balan, we know she is a fine actress, in every time she chooses different scripts, that has importance for her role, in this Shakuntala Devi (2020) she did an amazing job as Great mathematician Shakuntala, the truth is she totally changed to that role, in every time period, she showed the differences of that role by her good acting.

Next to Vidya Balan Sanya Malhotra and Jishu Sengupta tried to balance their role and also somewhat they did it.

The whole plot is fully dramatic in nature that revolves between the mother and her daughter sentiments. the truth is, the director tried to make one good biopic that should be inspirational but the outcome is a complete dramatic movie that based on mother and daughter sentiment.

Music seems like a funky type, music director done a good job, you will also feel the dance when it comes on the screen.

the cinematography is an above-average one. Dialogues are convincing and melodramatic.

climax its an audience pleaser one, I think that's a good ending for this film.

What's not there in this film?.

My thought is, the story lacks its significance to be an inspirational one because most of the time it stuck between the sentimental or dramatic scenes between the mother and daughter.

The screenplay takes its own time to convey, it should have neatly crafted to engage, the truth is there is no holding factor to keep the audience engaged to the story, it goes on its own way.

Star performance:

It fits Vidya Balan.

There are doubt and choice, she is a show-stealer of this film Shaluntala Devi (2020).

Storyline:

It's a biopic of Great Mathematician Shakuntala Devi commonly known as Human-Computer.

It starts with the scene of Heroine's  (Shakuntala Devi) daughter going to file a criminal case against her own mom Shakuntala Devi.

After that scene, the flashback came, like how she turned to be a great mathematician, there are many good heroism scenes in that.

Heroine Shakuntala Devi won't like her mom because she didn't raise her voice against her husband for her first daughter died because of their poverty.

So she tried not to be like her mom and also she changed like bold and strong women, she always wants to keep her daughter with her, wherever she went.

Because of this Heroine, Shakuntala Devi didn't put her daughter in a proper school and also not showed her dad for ten years, for this reason, Heroine's daughter Anu started to hate her mom because she thinks that her mom spoiled her entire childhood.

The story goes like this and ends with the climax of how they joined together by understanding their mistakes.

Verdict:

A good story spoiled by unnecessary dramatic scenes and turned this film into one time watchable track.

Shakuntala Devi (2020) rating:

3.25/5 - One time watchable (by Movie Laundry)
